Recognize Signs of Distress & Connect Students to Help

Learn to recognize signs of psychological distress such as depression, anxiety, and substance abuse. Users learn how to approach at-risk students and make appropriate referrals to campus support services for screening and assessment.

Learn to respond to biased comments, supporting a student who comes out, recognizing signs of psychological distress and how best to connect students to appropriate campus resources and services.

 Creating a Supportive Campus for Student Veterans

Returning veterans enter the classroom with valuable life and leadership experiences; however, transitioning to civilian and student life may present unique challenges. Learn to understand the needs, experiences and cultural issues affecting student veterans.

 

If you have taken the training before, your previous id and password will not work on the new Kognito log-in site and you will need to re-register.

Once logged in to your account, you will a total of 6 courses, 3 of which you will be able to access. If you selected that you are a student, you will be able to access the 3 student courses and the 3 faculty courses will be locked. If you selected that you are faculty, you will have access to the 3 faculty courses and the 3 student courses will be locked.

To register:

  1. Go to https://www.kognitocampus.com/login/
  2. Register using
    1. enrollment key: ksu61
    2. your K-state email
    3. set your own password

It takes about 35-40 minutes to finish it but you can stop at any point and go back into the system multiple times to complete it or review it again in the next year. Once done, you can print out a certificate of completion.
